It begins!

The first round of PFAV volunteers is on their way to Nepal by way of Guangzhou, China. After flying out of Los Angeles late Tuesday night, they will land in Kathmandu on Thursday, March 8 in the afternoon, KTM time (which will be in the middle of the night in the U.S.). They’ve got a long way to go!

Suitcases of vitamins ready for our health camp!

In the meantime, for our PFAV friends and family back home, there’s plenty you can to do accompany us on our journey! Here are four ways to “go by giving,” no matter where you are.

1. Send your prayers, well wishes, good vibes, and thoughts of encouragement! Our trips to Nepal are rewarding, humbling, and life-changing…and with that comes plenty of challenges for first-timers and veterans alike. As we are guests in a country most Americans will never visit, and as we try to provide service and care for those we meet, we appreciate all the positive energy you can send us!

2. Follow our social media feeds to stay updated…and share with your friends and family! Our visit to Nepal for the annual health camp is our biggest and busiest event of the year, and we would love for as many people as possible to be part of it! It’s not only a great way to get a first-hand look into what PFAV works toward all year long, but also a rare chance to glimpse a part of the world often forgotten by the rest of it. Like and share our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts with your network, and don’t forget to use the hashtag #PFAVinNepal2018!

3. Get familiar with Nepal and the projects we sponsor there. Part of PFAV’s mission is to bring people who are living in shadows into the light so they can be seen, served, and given the resources to succeed. The Nepali people are our friends, partners, and role models, and sharing their stories with you motivates us to continue our work. While we’re with them this year, take a moment to read up on our projects in Nepal and the people we are privileged to meet while there.

4. Lend your financial support. It’s not too late to contribute, and every dollar makes a difference. As always with Project for a Village, 100% of all donations go directly to our projects on the ground. For our health camp, these donations purchase vitamins, deworming treatments, medicines, dental hygiene products, menstrual kits, and more.

However you accompany us on this journey, we’re so glad you’re with us. Stay tuned for more news soon, and as always, namaste!
